Delight over the heaviest snowfall in 100 years soon turned into concern about the associated disruption and danger.

According to the report, more than 100 flights were canceled, and ferry services were interrupted. Several casualties were also reported from collapsing structures and traffic accidents.
“Since it’s the first snow, it feels so nice. It brightens my mood, but at the same time, I worry about traffic accidents or whether students and office workers will face any issues commuting,” shared a resident.
More than 40 cm of snow was recorded in Seoul. For those able to stay safe, the snowfall transformed the city into a wintry wonderland.
“It’s been snowing so much today. It’s freezing and chilly, but having a cup of hot fish cake soup out here really helps warm me up,” another resident expressed.
I was a little concerned about the traffic. But because it’s snow, I got excited thinking I might be able to see some beautiful scenery, even just for a short while,” said another.
