Kash Patel Targeted in Iranian Hack Amid FBI Nomination

Kash Patel Targeted in Iranian Hack Amid FBI Nomination: Kash Patel has been alleged to have experienced a cyberattack sponsored by Iran. Citing CNN, the agency said it notified Patel and Trump’s team that some of their communication could have been breached in a hack.

It came as the White House reported an increase in targeted hacks from foreign powers on Trump’s immediate circle, most recently, Chinese hackers gaining entry to Trump’s lead attorney and nominee for Deputy Attorney General, Todd Blanche’s cell phone.

Iran and China have doubted these facts, as they did not participate in these acts. From the ranks of Trump’s first administration, Patel established himself as a hawk in Iran and is expected to take Trumpism to the FBI as director.

Trump transition spokesman Alex Pfeiffer said Patel will bring policies to safeguard the United States from opponents. However, the transition team has still not disclosed much about the details of the cyberattack that befell ONB.

Kash Patel Targeted in Iranian Hack Amid FBI Nomination: The event shows the escalation of cybersecurity issues linked to the emerging administration. There are previous accounts that Iranian hackers have tried to hack allies of Trump, such as successfully penetrating the mail of Roger Stone in June and then employing the mail to try a second hack on a campaign official.

Douglas asked that the court allow investigators to share with the court alleged information that Iran provided stolen data from Trump’s campaign to people affiliated with Biden’s campaign; Iran has denied such allegations.

The nomination of Patel has encouraged much public and Congressional scrutiny. A fierce critic of the so-called ‘Deep State,’ he has suggested massive changes to the FBI: moving its headquarters out of the Washington, D.C. area and scaling back its intel functions.

Patel has also recommended that the FBI legal counsel’s office be downsized because he believes the office has become too powerful. For those policies that have been enumerated, profound changes that could transform the agency would likely occur if his policies were to be adopted.
