Israel Intensifies Airstrikes on Gaza Following Sinwar Death
Israel has intensified its military operations in Gaza, particularly following the elimination of top Hamas leader Yaya Sinir. The Israeli Army has ramped up airstrikes and ground assaults, notably in Jabalia and Beit Lahiya, leading to extensive destruction and flattening of entire neighborhoods.
Although the Israeli Army claims these strikes aim to eliminate remaining fighters, the human cost has been staggering, with thousands killed and many trapped beneath rubble. The Gaza Health Ministry reports over 42,600 deaths and approximately 999,000 injuries since the conflict’s onset.

Famine Threat Looms:
As the military offensive continues, Gaza faces another dire threat: famine. According to the World Food Programme (WFP), approximately 1.8 million Palestinians are experiencing acute food insecurity, with over 133,000 people on the brink of starvation.
Many locals are scrounging among trash heaps for food while Israel continues to block humanitarian aid. The ongoing blockade has severely restricted access to essential supplies such as fuel, medicine, and water, exacerbating a critical health crisis.
Dire Humanitarian Situation:
The WFP cautions that conditions will probably deteriorate as winter draws near unless there is an immediate ceasefire and access to humanitarian aid.
The Integrated Food Security Phase Classification indicates that 96% of Gaza’s population suffers from severe and acute food insecurity.
If fighting continues and aid remains restricted, the risk of famine could escalate dramatically in the coming months. The humanitarian situation is critical, with infrastructure decimated and agricultural production severely affected.
