MCA Slammed for Lack of Support Towards Prithvi Shaw: Former Cricketer Speaks Out: Ex-Indian players have never shied away from coming out against the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) over comments about young batsman Prithvi Shaw. The comments, which the players regard as insensitive and discouraging, have raised controversy about the functions of cricketing boards in addressing struggling players. 

Shaw, who was expected to be a future icon of the Indian batting line-up, has had his fair share of problems, both in terms of form and fitness. But recently, the MCA officials made remarks that suggested Shaw suffered all these misfortunes because of his own doing, which has angered the cricketing fraternity.

Cricketer Calls Out Lack of Support

On the matter, the former cricketer didn’t hold back. They don’t care whether Prithvi Shaw succeeds or not. Instead of helping him, they are coming up with remarks that could even reduce the morale of a young talent under pressure,” he said during an interview. He pointed out that young players go through cycles of questioning their abilities and need support from their respective associations to get back to form.

Cricketers are not physically alone, but it is much tougher mentally to be a cricketer. The MCA and similar organizations are formed to help the player in his hour of need but are not meant to bad-mouth him publicly, he further said.

Shaw’s Career in Focus

India’s swift debutante Prithvi Shaw has also struggled to hold the position in the playing eleven after attaining applause for his debut performance. It might demoralize Shaw and negatively affect the future of Mumbai cricket, given that there isn’t any doubt about his talent.
