Vegetable Prices Double: Tomatoes, Potatoes, and Onions Out of Reach for Many: Rising inflation has severely impacted the household budgets of common people. With daily expenses skyrocketing and no significant increase in income, managing finances has become a daunting task. Essential items like bread, tea, oil, flour, and vegetables have witnessed an exponential price hike, leaving households struggling to cope.

Surging Prices of Daily Essentials

  • The price of a 10 kg packet of flour has increased by Rs 20.
  • Tea leaves have seen a price rise of Rs 50 per kg.
  • Refined oil prices have gone up by Rs 10 per liter.
  • Vegetables like potatoes, onions, and tomatoes are now out of reach for many.

According to reports, potato prices have nearly doubled compared to last year. Green vegetables, too, are becoming unaffordable for the common people.

Price Drops in Select Items:

Amid rising inflation, there is some relief with the prices of certain goods decreasing:

  • Gram prices have dropped by Rs 10 per kg.
  • Basmati rice prices have also decreased by Rs 10 per kg.
  • Increased supply of pulses may lead to lower prices.

However, these minor reductions are unlikely to offset the overall impact of inflation, particularly for middle- and lower-class families.
