Telecom Revolution: BSNL Gain with 1 Crore Subscribers, Private Telcos Lose: As of September 30, 2024, Jio led the chart of broadband subscribers (wired and wireless) with a subscriber count of 47.7 crore, followed by Bharti Airtel (28.5 crore) and Vodafone India (12.6 crore). BSNL was fourth in that list with a subscriber count of 3.7 crore.
Did one crore customers leave in the month of Atel Jio and V Phone Idea? Those who left in the previous month are different, and the full benefits are being received by BSNL, Government BSNL. How much loss has been incurred?
How much benefit has BSNL gotten, and what are the figures?
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, which is a nodal agency to govern all telecom operators, meaning it is an organization under which the entire telecom sector comes, takes decisions and says, So many customers have come and so many have not come, give a consultation paper.
TRAI also releases data every month as to how many customers came to which company and how many customers left from which company. The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India has found that the decision taken in the very first week of July that Jio 220B would remain with us, but from July till the data has come in three batches, and that data has found that every month the customers of the private players of these three players are continuously leaving them.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited is another surprising thing. The data has come for September 2024. In July, BSNL added 30 lakh, almost 29 lakh subscribers. In August, it will be around 25 lakhs, i.e., in two months, BSNL has added 55 lakh new customers. The figures for the third month, September, have also come, and according to that figure, BSNL has 55 to 64 lakh customers in the last three months.
The question is, where are these subscribers coming from?
This figure is from a report of TRI, which says Net Addition in Wireless Subscribers of Access Services Service Providers. In September 2024, how many people are connected as wireless subscribers, i.e., in phones?
This will probably be the first time in the history of TRI many lakhs more subscribers have been added. This is unprecedented growth, meaning more than “1” crore people are becoming net additions. Probably about “1” crore 10 lakh people felt in a single month that they no longer needed phones, which means that gradually, due to the telecom revolution, “1” crore subscribers and “1” crore 1 lakh subscribers were reduced in that revolution only because of the result of increasing prices.
New Announcement From BSNL
BSNL’s old towers are also being renovated. Along with this, we are also working on 5G. They are also working on satellite technology. An effort is being made to run BSNL through satellite even in places where the signal is not available. BSNL is doing all these things, and they say that they will do this without increasing the price.
