Delhi police explained their steps by stating that the protesters lacked authorization for their gathering. A senior police officer noted an application for a protest at Jantar Mantar was still under consideration.
At the protest, Wangchuk and his supporters voiced their requests for statehood for Ladakh, a public service commission, and independent Lok Sabha seats for the Leh and Kargil districts. This protest has been ongoing for several years and continues.
