Delhi Air Pollution: AQI Crosses 1000 in Jahangirpuri, Visibility Drops Drastically: Delhi’s air pollution emergency is escalating, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) in Jahangirpuri breaching the dangerous 1000 mark. After Diwali, the city was shrouded in smog, harshly reducing visibility. Vehicles are compelled to use headlights even during the day as pollution cloaks the capital.

Even indoors, tenants are scuffling with the deteriorating air quality. The sick and healthy are facing respiratory problems, with doctors warning of long-term health outcomes.

Weather conditions in Delhi

Those from middle and lower-income groups are disproportionately affected, while political parties engage in blame games instead of addressing the crisis.

Transport systems are also disrupted. Dense fog and smog have delayed trains and caused flight diversions at IGI Airport. On Monday, visibility dropped as low as 100 meters at 7 am, and Safdarjung reported a visibility of 150 meters by 7:30 am.

As temperatures continue to fall, the air quality shows no sign of improvement, leaving Delhiites to endure worsening conditions.
