Amit Shah in Maharashtra Announces Major Welfare Schemes for Farmers, Women, and Youth: Home Minister Amit Shah addressed a large public gathering in Yavatmal, unveiling a series of ambitious welfare initiatives aimed at empowering farmers, women, and youth across the state. Below are the key announcements:

  1. Welfare for Women and Kitchen Support
  • Free gas cylinders for women, ensuring every household has access to clean cooking fuel.
  • Essential kitchen items like jowar, rice, peanut oil, salt, sugar, turmeric, mustard, cumin, and chili powder will be provided to poor households for free, keeping kitchens “lit for 365 days.”

2. Financial Empowerment for Farmers

    • Farmers’ loan limit increased to ₹3 lakh.
    • Kisan Samman Nidhi aims to be raised from₹12,000 to₹15,000 annually.
    • Waiver of SGST on fertilizers, pesticides, seeds, and tractors with no additional tax burden.

    3. Social Security for Pensioners

      • Old-age pensions, disabled pensions, and widow pensions are to be increased from ₹1,500 to ₹2,100 monthly.

      4. Boost to Youth and Rural Infrastructure

        • 10 lakh talented youth to receive ₹10,000 monthly tuition fees.
        • Anganwadi and Asha workers will receive ₹15,000 monthly salaries and free insurance coverage of up to ₹5 lakh.
        • Roads to be established in 45,000 villages across Maharashtra.

        5. Economic Relief and Reduced Costs

          • Reduction in electricity bills by 30%.
          • An economic reform plan to save Maharashtra ₹1 trillion, aiming for a “dollar economy.”

          6. Historical and Cultural Preservation

            • Formation of a “Fort Authority” dedicated to maintaining Maharashtra’s iconic forts set up during Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s reign, with plans to preserve two crore kilos of heritage structures.
