The controversy doesn’t stop at noise levels. Before the Chandigarh concert, Diljit faced criticism for spelling “Punjab” as “Panjab” in a social media post. Some users accused him of referencing the part of Punjab that lies in Pakistan and omitting the Indian flag in his post.

Responding to the criticism, Diljit clarified that spelling variations do not diminish Punjab’s identity. He explained that the name derives from the word “Panch,” referring to the region’s five rivers and spelling it differently in English changes nothing.
