Elon Musk Spends $270 Million Supporting Trump’s Re-Election: OpenSecrets reports that Elon Musk—Tesla and SpaceX founder and the world’s richest man—contributed $273,031,000 to Trump’s successful primaries and general election campaign in 2024. It checked the savvy that Musk’s financial support gave him a consultation position in Trump’s advancing administration.
By March 19th, according to the Washington Post, Musk’s donation topped that of the previous single biggest donor to Trump’s campaign, Tim Mellon, who gave close to $200m in this electoral period. Public records from the Federal Election Commission show that Musk contributed $238 million to America PAC, an organization he formed to support Trump’s bid.
He gave at least $20 million to the RBG PAC that sought to adopt more moderate advertising to alter Trump’s position on abortion further. America PAC mainly financed practical voter contact efforts such as canvassing, calling, completed texting, mailbox pamphlets, and billboards.

Musk also campaigned at Trump events and offered Trump an invite to go through a SpaceX rocket in Texas after his come-out victory. Elon Musk’s extravagant contributions make him the largest donor in modern American political finance and signal his increasing entrenchment in U.S. politics.
As reported, thanks to such unprecedented financial support, Musk became an essential advocate for Trump in the forthcoming election and an important factor in determining the further development of the administration.
