Environmentalist and Ladakh activist Sonam Wangchuk and around 150 activists detained with him have been freed by Delhi Police on Wednesday night. After being released, the police took Sonam Wangchuk to the Gandhi Samadhi Sthal at Rajghat, where he and his companions obeyed Bapu.
Sonam Wangchuk has submitted a memorandum related to his demands to the government, in which the demands of Ladakh have been mentioned. After submitting the memorandum, the ministry officials assured them that in the coming days, he would be made to meet the Prime Minister, President, or Home Minister, after which he would end his fast.

Sonam Wangchuk and more than 150 workers had reached Delhi by foot from Leh Ladakh. He wanted to protest on October 2 at Rajghat in Delhi regarding his demands. But the police took him and his workers into custody on the border of Delhi itself. Delhi Police said that he and his workers have been detained due to Section 163 of the BNSS being imposed in Delhi. Yesterday, that means Wednesday evening, all the workers and Sonam Wangchuk were released by Delhi Police.
